A short trek of three to four days of walking that rarely goes beyond 13,100 ft/4000 m this route is a good one for beginners and others who may have shortage of time. It passes through some pretty villages such as Hemisshukpachan set amidst a rich forest of cedar trees. The entire route traverses north of the road between Leh and Kargil and at the end of the trek near Khaltse, it is nice to take a look at the Lamayuru Monastery and then head back to Leh.

Day 01 : Delhi – Leh
Fly to Leh – one of the major and most beautiful destinations of summers also known as ‘Little Tibet”.  The town of Leh is situated at an altitude of 3500 mts and the spectacular view of the surrounding and the snow peaked mountains will give you so much happiness as the place is very peaceful and people are very friendly and warm welcoming.

Meeting and assistance on arrival at Leh airport. Later transfer to your pre-booked hotel. The entire day, you are free to take rest before starting the trekking tour as you will require to acclimatize well. Dinner and night stay at Leh hotel or guest house.

Day 02 : Leh
Morning after having your breakfast, proceed for a full day tour of Leh which includes Shey Gompa – It is situated 15 kms from the city of Leh and in earlier time, was the summer palace of the Ladakh King. The construction of the palace was started in the 17th century by Deldan Namgyal, Tiksey Gompa – located 19 Kms east of Leh is the most beautiful and largest Gompa in Ladakh which resembles to the Potala Palace in Tibet and Hemis Monastery (45 Kms from Leh) – it is into existence before 11 Century and it was re-constructed by Sengge Namgyal in 1672. One of the biggest monastery in Ladakh. Night stay at Leh.

Day 03 : Likir to Yangthang across Phobe La (9 kms/4 to 5 hrs.)
After breakfast in the morning , you will be taken to Likir Village situated 58 kms from the city of Leh. Our short trekking tour will start from Likir Village (3650 mts.) The route is enjoyable and we need to cross two passes. The route will take you to Phobe Le (3630 M) first. Beyond this lies Sumdo Village.  Then the next stop will be Chagatse La (3630 M). After crossing this pass, you will be in the village of Yangthang (3630 M). We will put a camp for an overnight stay. The nearest monastery is Ridzong Monastery which is just an hour away from Yangthang .

Day 04 : Yangthang to Hemis Shukpachen across Tsermangchen La(8 kms 2/3 hours)
This tour is designed for the beginners so it is also an easy day. Walk to the Hemis Shukpachen 
The trail heads north,descending for a bit, crossing a stream before climbing up west again to Tsermangchen La (3750m). We will take a rest for a while and then again from the pass we walk  down to Hemis Shukpachen.

Day 05 : Hemis Shukpachen to Ang across Mebtak La (10 kms/ 3 hrs)
It is also another easy day. The trail goes upward between two hillocks west of the village upwards until it veers south and climbs steeply up to the Mebtak La (3750m) marked by prayer flags. We trek down the gorge to Ang, a very beautiful village where will stay in a camp for a night.

Day 06 : Ang to Temisgam and Nurla (8 km/ 3 hrs)
Your trekking tour ends here. Now get ready for the way back to Temisgam which is very easy trek as it is a downhill walk. In Teminsgam, our taxi will be waiting for you. Night stay at Leh.

Day 07 : Leh – Delhi
In the morning, depart for Leh Airport for your flight back to Delhi. If you want to make the journey from Leh to Delhi more adventurous then you may drive to either Manali or Srinagar and it can be arranged as per your advise. It is a journey of 2 days with an overnight stay at either Sarchy, which lies on the Leh-Manali highway, or Kargil, which lies on the Leh-Srinagar highway.
