Zanskar River Trekking tour is one of the most thrilling and great adventure tour where you will walk not on roads but on white frozen Zanskar Chadar means White Sheet or blanket. The temperature goes to as low as -30° which chill the blood in a second. This tour is not for the people who are very firm and unfit; lot of courage is required to do a tour like this. From the centuries, the local inhabitants are using this route link for trading. You will also get a chance to stay and to get interact with the Zanskaris.
Day 01 : Arrival Leh
Upon arrival at Leh Airport, our office person will welcome you and escort you to your designated booked. Spend rest of the time at leisure and free to acclimatize to the new conditions of Ladakh. Overnight stay will be at Leh.
Day 02 : Leh to Hemis Drive and Trek to Shang Sudo
After early morning breakfast, you will be driven by jeep to Hemis where you will visit Hemis Gompa - the beautiful monastery and the important place for Buddhist Pilgrims. Later begin trekking to Shang Sumdo. After crossing Martselang bridge, again start trekking to up to the valley along the river, crossing it many times. Reach at Sang Sumdo and spend the night in the camp.
Day 03 : Trek Shang Sumdo to Lartsa Kongmarula, 4800m
Early in the morning, we start a more adventurous trekking tour via astonishing landscape of red rocks. We will continue trekking along the river up to Chuskyurmo where we shall camp for the night stay. We shall also cross s
mall rivers on the way. Night stay at Camp.
Day 04 : Trek Larsa Kongmarula to Langthang Chu river
Pack your bags and get ready for a trek to Nimaling (4700 M). From Nimaling, ascent steeply to Kongmarula Pass at an altitude of 5150m from where you can get a marvelous view of Kang Yatse Peak (6400 m). After reaching at Kongmarula, the trek is easy as we have to descent to a beautiful valley, on up again follow a rocky slope to Konga Ngonpo (5090 m). Then again step down near Male where we shall camp for a night stay.
Day 05 : Trek Langthang Chu – Zalung Karpo La (5200m)
Morning, we will continue trekking along a large stream and a moraine. After an hour teak, the route goes up and down. Reach Zalung Karpo La. We shall camp for a night stay at Zalung Karpo La.
Day 06 : Trek Zalungkarpola to Tilat Sumdo
Morning, begin the tour descending towards the main stream. We will reach at Khamak Sundo after an hour trekking. After that, we will cross the stream many times. Arrive at Tilat Sumdo where we set up a trek.
Day 07 : Trek Tilat Sumdo to a north camp (4450m) of Chhar Chhar La 4950m)
Today, we will cross Khurna river which is just after your campsite. Following the right bank, after four hour trek, we shall camp for a night stay.
Day 08 : Trek from the north camp Chhar Chhar La to Zangla Sumdo
We shall follow the narrow valley and shall past many narrow sides. The trek up to the top chharchhar La which is at an altitude of 4950 m. Along the downstream route, we will reach Zangla Sumdo.
Day 09 : Trek Zanglasumdo to Zangla
Along the stream, we will descend to Zangla, we will get a great view of the Zanskar River. On the other side of river, we can see the villages of Pishu and Pidmo.
Day 10 : Visits to monasteries
Morning, enjoy the sightseeing tour around Zanskar visit Zangla – It is a Buddhist Monastery and is a residence of about 150 lamas, Stongdey Monastery – the second largest monastic institution in Zanskar and the most flourishing monastery and Karsha monastery – The monastery was founded by Phagspa. Overnight in camps in Mulbekh.
Day 11 : Mulbekh – Leh
Morning after having breakfast, we shall drive back to Leh by Jeep. Reach Leh and transfer to the hotel. Whole day is free for personal activities. Spend the last night of your tour in Leh.
Day 12 : Departure from Leh
Early morning, our office person will meet you in a hotel lobby and transfer you to Leh airport to board the flight back to Delhi and from Delhi International Airport, to onward destination.
