Day 01 : Manali - Marrhi Nallah- 40 Kms.
Manali is a beautiful hill station surrounded by Pine & Deodar trees and it is situated near the end of the valley
of Himachal Pradesh. Early morning, we will start our mountain bike tour to Marrhi Nallah passing the Beas River over Manali. We will also pass the Army check post and then continue the journey along the left side of the Beas River. The weather will be unpredictable from Sunny Manali to Foggy and mild rainy. Reach Marrhi Nallah and night stay in the camp.
Day 02 : Marrhi - Rohtang - Koksar - Sissu - Gondla - 70 Kms
From Marrhi, we ascent 17 Kms to Rohtang Jot. We can have a cup of tea in one of the little Parachute cafes. The we descent till Koksar Bridge. On a clear day, we can have spectacular views of snow capper mountains and Glaciers. As we descent, the landscapes gets changed from tree line to small bushes. We will pass the check post and then will follow the path along the river flow till Tandi. At certain points, we will leave the bank, climbing uphill and we will follow the trail along the river. After Koksar, we continue our journey to Gondla and the road to Gondla is unmetalled. After crossing few mountains stream, we reach to our campsite where we will spend our night.
Day 03 : Tandi - Keylong - Gemur - Jispa - Darcha - 45 Kms.
Morning, we leave to the confluence point of River Chandra and Bhaga, crossing the bridge, uphill, we reach to Keylong Town. After that, we ascend the serpentine road into a gorge. As soon as we come out of the gorge and descend downhill, we reach the Jispa Hamlet Town. The good and comfortable hotel in Jispa Ibex Hotel. Jispa is also called the land of Lamas. There is a small Gompa in Keylong. After crossing Jispa, we enter into the isolated region. Overnight stay in the camp at Darcha.
Day 04 : Darcha - Patseo - Baralacha La - Bharatpur - 55 Kms.
Early morning, we will continue our adventurous journey. We will cross the bridge and head on the hairpin bends uphill. Till the cantonment area of military garrison to Himmatnagar, the trial is ascending. After next 10 Kms, we will be in a flat area. As we move on, the sunny weather will become more and hotter and it will test our strength and patience. On the way, we will see little sigs painted on the rocks in yellow colour. We ascent to Baralacha Pass located at the height of 4892 M & Suraj Tal Lake and will pass the mountain river crossing. Later we will descend down to the gorge area of Bharatpur. Overnight stay will be in the camp.
Day 05 : Bharatpur - Sarchu - 4253 M - Brandy Nallah - 35 Kms.
We will start an easy ride on a flat Road, and then to downhill and then will enter a gorge descending to the bridge connecting to the Sarchu Plateau. After crossing the bridge & we have to ascend on a small uphill road making us move to the plateau area. Ahead lies another vast stretch flat ground with shepherds and their mountain goats. Later we reach at the traffic check post, which is the We are at the Traffic Check post, which is the entrance point towards Ladakh. We will ride another 20 Kms to reach Brandy Nallah where we will stay for night. The roads is very bumpy with flat stretches.
Day 06 : Brandy Nallah - Gata loops - Naki la - Lachungla - Pang - 57 Kms.
Today is a tough day as we move to scale the Gata Loops, 23 hairpin bends bringing us top of the mountain feature. We steep up to hill along the easy slope just to pass the Naki La Pass, steep down intothe gorge to an military garrison area. Later we again ascent to Lachulung La – 5065 M. After crossing Naki La, we will be on an unmetalled stretch of gravelly road. In the evening, we will reach Pang and stay in the camp for overnight stay.
Day 07 : Pang - More Plains - Tanglangla (Base Camp ) - 47 Kms .
Today morning 08Kms uphill from the Bowl-like feature of Pang we come to the plateau area of the More plains. Changpas, the Nomadic people who tend their yaks here and a few wild asses are the only sign of life on this isolated and long road. This belt not only barren but is known for fast blowing winds, sandstorms & extreme temperatures in the early morning and evenings. Fresh stream water can be considered a scarcity in this area
though you might find some isolated mountain streams flowing down from the Tanglangla. The ride is easy going being a flat plateau area, but the road, which stretches on ahead, is not as smooth as it looks. Overnight in Camp at the base of Tanglang La.
Day 08: Tanglangla - Rumtse - Gya - 50 Kms.
Today we will do the tough ride as we proceed early to scale the World's second highest motorable pass, Tanglang la - 5,360 M. For next 17Kms, the ride is a challenge for even the fittest of riders, in a chill weather early in the morning, with gravelly stretches of the road consuming extra energy, riding over the altitude of 17,000 Ft will be an acid test for the mind & Body. Reaching the top is a very satisfying experience & then it's all downhill with smooth gradients till the base of the Pass. The Chortens along the road in the villages announce our arrival in the heart of Buddhist culture. You will see the spectacular view of the landscapes, the greenery landscape, and the red coloured mountains surrounding us and reflected in the river only add to the beauty as we hit Rumtse and Gya for Overnight camp.
Day 09 : Gya - Upshi - Karu - Leh - 61 Kms
Morning have the breakfast. Around 20 Kms we ride on some metalled & unmetalled stretches of roads & cross over the Upshi Bridge across the river Indus. Road condition improves considerably as we follow more traffic from the cantonment area & local villages going to Leh. Ahead lies the Thiksey Monastery an outstanding specimen & the Chortens Garden the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. The ride is easy & arrival in Leh in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 10 : Day free for Leisure
Breakfast at the hotel. Day free for relaxing and for the maintenance of bicycles. Relax for the whole day as we have ridden over in the last few days. Enjoy the surroundings in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 11 : Leh - Khardungla - 5602 - 40 Kms
Early morning we have to start up as the weather on the pass is not always very reliable. As the journey from Leh to North Pullu Check post, Apprx 20 Kms is fair you can easily ride the uphill to warm up. After that roads are quite bumpy due to maintenance therefore we need to gear up and the ride becomes more challenging. As you will reach at the top, the highest Motorable pass in the world upto 18380 ft. Take the couple of photographs to record the feet and began the descent. Then the cycles will be loaded in the truck. You will be ride back in four wheel vehicles. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 12 : Day free for Leisure
Morning breakfast at the hotel. This day is kept for the backup day, , in case, due to any unforeseen reason we have not made it up to Khardung La the day before. If we have been there then enjoy the surroundings and the picturesque landscapes of Leh. You can do river rafting on Indus river or you can do shopping or can take rest for whole day. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 13 : Departure to Delhi
Early morning transfer to Leh Airport for your onward flight to Delhi. Arrival and check in check in to the hotel. Day free for your own leisure and take the International flight back home, or extend your stay to other destinations.
